PPIE BRC Public Involvement in Research Competition 2024 is now open
The NIHR Imperial BRC management team wishes to acknowledge the outstanding public involvement activities in research within Imperial. To show our support and encouragement, we are pleased to announce that our 2024 BRC Public Involvement in Research competition call is now open.

The competition aims to recognise innovative and impactful PPIE activities or initiatives. This could be an activity that has been accomplished as part of a specific project or could be a broader initiative that has positively affected patient participation across an entire speciality or even the Trust. Examples include (and are not restricted to): a video, a website, a survey, a focus group with a report, etc.
“Public” refers to patients, potential patients, carers and people who use health and social care services as well as people from organisations that represent people who use services. The NIHR definitions of public involvement, engagement and participation in NHS, health and social care research can be found here.
Submitted projects will be judged by a panel consisting of academics and BRC community partners. Please note that the applicant’s name and other identifying information will not be shared with the panel. we aim to announce the winner in early December and they will be invited to the NIHR Imperial BRC Annual Meeting to co-present their project with one of their public contributors, where they will be awarded the prize, a trophy and a £500 gift voucher of choice.
