Preparing for Fellowship Interviews (PhD or post-doctoral)09:00 - 13:00Worried about your Fellowship interview?
Been a while since you’ve done an interview?
Come along to this interactive and practical in-person session to help you understand what to expect and how you can best prepare. Our session will include:
delivering effective presentations;
how to influence your interview panel;
how to think on your feet when answering questions;
strategies to ensure you’re ready for the big day.
You’ll also have a chance to ask any questions you may have and we’ll share resources that you can access after the session.
This session is aimed at clinical academics/clinical researchers from all clinical professions working towards research fellowship awards/roles at PhD level or beyond. The training will cover generic interview skills. Preparation and support to confidently explain your research method should be sought separately via your research supervisors and other local research colleagues (i.e. through specific mock interviews). This training is not suitable for straightforward applications for medical ACF or CL posts. Places on this training session are limited and the session is only open to clinicians working within Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre members and Affiliates*. The session will be delivered by the Imperial College London Careers Service. Interested clinicians should express an interest if they:
are preparing for a research fellowship interview imminently
expect to have a fellowship interview in the coming months
would like to have a more strategic approach towards preparing for interviews to improve their performance
