HMC Health is a GP Group based in Hounslow, providing clinical services to six GP practices with a combined patient population of approximately 70,000. The organisation is led by Dr Nittin Kumar, Medical Director, and Mr Nadir Thaha, Business Manager.
HMC Health has been actively involved in research for several years, supporting both academic and commercial studies across its member practices. In addition, the organisation is committed to increasing research participation across the wider Hounslow area. Hounslow is recognised as an area of high deprivation and historically low research uptake, making this work particularly important.
The HMC Health Research Unit is based at the Meadows Centre for Health in Hounslow and benefits from dedicated space and equipment to support the delivery of research studies.
Apart from the vital support from the North London Regional Research Delivery Team and Imperial BRC, the research team is led by Dr Ivor Singh, Clinical Research Lead GP, supported by Mr Nilabhra Dutta (Research and Development) and Ms Manpreet Kaur (Nursing Lead). The wider clinical research team includes two Sub-Investigators, a Physician Associate, Research Coordinator, Research Practitioner and two Pharmacists in addition to colleagues from the Agile workforce from the North London Regional Research Delivery Network Team.
Dr Singh has been a Principal Investigator on over 40 studies, spanning both academic and commercial research. He has worked very closely with the Research Delivery Team for several years and this partnership has helped to build both academic and commercial research in Hounslow.
HMC Health prides itself on its adaptability, resourcefulness, and strong track record in delivering complex studies to time and target. The organisation is committed to inclusivity and has supported several studies in meeting national diversity requirements.
In addition to successfully delivering major pandemic studies such as PANORAMIC and RAPTOR, HMC Health has also achieved strong recruitment outcomes in studies, including ELSA as well as a number of commercial studies.
As a result of meeting its objectives for commercial study delivery, HMC Health was eligible to apply for Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) status. It has subsequently been awarded CRDC designation as the only Primary Care CRDC in Londonat this time – North London CRDC – Primary Care. The North London CRDC – Primary Care works closely with five other partner organisations across London to help to collaborate and deliver more research studies.

- Phase III studies in COPD – Complex Monoclonal Antibody studies
- Phase III vaccine studies
- Phase III studies in asthma
- Phase III studies in chronic kidney disease (CKD), being the only Primary Care site in the country, on one of the studies.
