Funding Call BRC Biomedical Engineering Theme Launched the BRC-MedTechONE Joint Pilot Project Call
The NIHR Imperial BRC Biomedical Engineering Theme and Wellcome Trust-funded MedTechONE, are pleased to announce a joint Pilot Project Call.
A total of £400,000 is available and up to four clinically-led translational projects aligned with the four threads of the BRC Biomedical Engineering Theme (Early Diagnosis, Precision Medicine, Digital Health, and Convergence Science) and the translational objectives of MedTechONE.
Each project will be funded up to £100,000 for a duration of 12 months with a 50/50 split between the NIHR Imperial BRC and MedTechONE. Successful applicants can expect to benefit from both the MedTechOne programme and BRC support.
The project should commence on 1 June 2024 and must be led by an Imperial clinical academic as the lead applicant. The team must include one engineer or scientist as a co-applicant.
We strongly encourage proposals that are multi-disciplinary and cross-faculty, covering a wide range of research areas
- Medical sensing and imaging
- Medical devices, including software as a medical device
- Precision therapy
- Smart biomaterials related to tissue engineering
- Minimally invasive interventions and robotics
- Biomechanics and mechanobiology
- Diagnostic and early detection of rare disease
